Omegafriends Background: Yang is the sister of Ruby Rose. Like her sister, she grew up in Venture City. While very much a vivacious and energetic girl, Yang was also something of an unruly girl, seeking out trouble and taking it on with a smile. Her drive was tempered by her uncle Qrow, who taught her how to use her abilities and fashion the gauntlets she wore upon her wrists. After becoming old enough, she set out to make a name for herself, dealing with mostly street-level crime under the alias "Golden Dragon".
In any case, Yang continued like this for several years. As her opponents were dealt with decisively by either running them out or too scared to talk, "Golden Dragon" never received media attention. What's more, attention from larger name heroes kept her from becoming a target for many supervillains or criminal organizations.
Eventually, Yang befriended a vigilante named Blake Belladonna. Though the two of them still don't know a great deal about one another, Yang has come to trust her. Additionally, Yang serves as a kind of "hero for hire", helping out people who can't help themselves (she doesn't demand money, but she keeps an office where people can come and request help from "Golden Dragon").
Personality: Yang's most prominent trait is how bombastic and energetic she is. Though she at first comes off a simple party girl, she is anything but a bouncy airhead... though she does love a good party all the same. It's just that for her, a "good party" usually means loud noises, a good fight, and potentially something exploding. In a way, it can be said that she craves adrenaline, and can be very hot blooded as a result.
That's not to say that Yang is unhinged. She cares a great deal for the people around her, and despite her... interests, she is more responsible than she lets on. She cares a great deal about her sister and her friends, and doesn't hesitate to show it, being openly (and sometimes overbearingly) affectionate. At the same time, she's also the type to throw someone in the deep end of the pool if there's something she needs to learn or a point she needs to get across, as Yang never does anything by halves, even if it's someone she cares about. This also makes her extremely straightforward, and she won't hesitate to show any emotion, whether it's excitement, grief, or even sadness.
She's not stupid, either, though her more simple outlook can cause her to sometimes miss the obvious. When she wants to be, Yang can be pretty devious, and isn't afraid to use her feminine wiles to get what she wants or to lull someone into letting their guard down. She doesn't mind being looked at, either, but if you're a scumbag she won't suffer your behavior for long.
That said, Yang does have her bad points. She has an almost comical obsession with the state of her hair, and losing a single strand can cause her to literally explode with anger. Should you harm something of hers that she places an even greater amount of value in, she will undoubtedly react even more harshly. In this state, Yang is quite dangerous, and she won't really stop until whatever triggered that anger is taken care of. Truth be told, Yang doesn't have any problem with or issue with this side of herself.
Finally, Yang is prone to making jokes, and is always ready with a good quip or two. Sometimes these are clever, sometimes they're absolutely groan worthy. This doesn't discourage her, though.
Powers: Unlike her sister, Yang does have powers, and they mostly revolve around her having a great deal of strength and durability. She is incredibly strong, able to shatter rock with a single punch, leap great distances, and endure blows that would leave others broken.
Her other powers are the golden fire that erupts from her body whenever she fights, usually around her hair and arms. In these cases, the fire's intensity increases whenever her anger or fighting spirit increases. These flames are focused and controlled by her weapons, Ember Celica, two gauntlets that she developed with her uncle Qrow's instruction. The gauntlets use shells to enhance the strength of her blows, as well as focus her flame into the form of fiery shots, flaming punches, or other kinds of attacks. They can also be used to direct bursts of force that can be used to launch Yang like a rocket, or be used to block.
She isn't carried entirely by brute strength and fancy technology, however. Yang has learned how to fight hand to hand by battling on the streets (and with a bit of help from her uncle), and is, naturally, proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Her reflexes are pretty good as well. However, despite the fact that she's quite good, she's not exactly at the peak of her potential, meaning there are still people out there that are better than her. Furthermore, her tendency to get really pissed can cloud her judgement from time to time.
Finally, her puns can cause people to feel physical pain. True story.
